Europe’s most important digital entertainment symposium in Stuttgart

The FMX/09, Europe’s biggest and most important symposium for the manufacture, production and marketing of digital entertainment is scheduled to take place from May 5 to May 8 in Stuttgart. The conference for professionals and students alike focuses on three main areas:

- fmx/conference, an extensive program of talks and lectures on the very latest technical and aesthetic developments in animation, visual effects, games and postproduction;
- fmx/forum, a trade fair for the DCC industry with the very latest innovations and products released by hardware and software companies and
- fmx/events, a series of high powered events such as the “Animation Production Day” business platform.

In parallel to the FMX/09 the 16th International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) will take place from May 5 to May 10 in Stuttgart. Both events will show the most recent and very best animated films.

The FMX will be held in the Haus der Wirtschaft in Stuttgart. The FMX has been associated with and has discussed the development of digital entertainment for 14 years and has evolved into a key event for intercontinental networking between professionals working in this global industry in Europe, the Americas and Asia. Two thirds of participants are professionals, one third students. In the conference language of English participants will have plenty of opportunity to meet and exchange experiences in an informal, friendly yet professional setting.

The FMX/09 event is run by the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in collaboration with the VES Visual Effects Society, the AIAS Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences and the ACM Siggraph. The conference is supported by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of State and Ministry of Economic Affairs, by the MFG Baden-Württemberg and the German Federal Film Board FFA.
