The Baden-Württemberg STIPENDIUM network has just been enlarged by the addition of two new Regional Chapters in Moscow and Santiago de Chile. A new Regional Chapter was set up in Moscow on 27 May 2009 on the occasion of the Baden-Württemberg Days in Moscow. Ten scholarship holders and alumni from Moscow and Baden-Württemberg accepted the invitation from Baden-Württemberg International. In the presence of Dr. Andreas Weber, Director Educational Fairs at the Landesstiftung Baden-Württemberg, the guests signed a certificate of formation and talked about the future activities of the Regional Chapter. The members of the Regional Chapter were then able to make the most of the relaxing atmosphere created by the laid back jazz concert by the Thomas Siffling Trio from Baden-Württemberg to get to know each other better and plan action for the future.
A new Regional Chapter has also been set up in Santiago de Chile. Twelve Baden-Württemberg STIPENDIUM scholarship holders and alumni from Chile and Baden-Württemberg got together on 10 May 2009 to bring the Baden-Württemberg STIPENDIUM in Santiago to life and put faces to names. An evening dinner was the perfect occasion to swap memories of the times made possible by the Baden-Württemberg STIPENDIUM. Many of the Chilean members plan to return to Baden-Württemberg in the near future.
The Baden-Württemberg STIPENDIUM program is run by the Landesstiftung Baden-Württemberg and facilitates international exchanges of young people – whether students, young professionals at the outset of their careers or school students. Every year the foundation lays the groundwork for around 1,200 scholarship holders from Baden-Württemberg and around the world to take part in exchanges. There are several Regional Chapters all around the world which function as nodes in the international Baden-Württemberg STIPENDIUM network and which are run and supported by current and former scholarship holders from all the foundation’s various programme lines. Baden-Württemberg International supports the Baden-Württemberg STIPENDIUM’s study line and acts as the contact for the international Regional Chapters.
