Abbreviation for cum tempore (Latin for with time). Any teaching events with c.t. in front of them begin a quarter of an hour later than scheduled (the “academic quarter”).

Mensa. A small cafeteria or snack bar, especially one in a school, university or place of work.
Schein. Document certifying attendance and satisfactory participation in a course.
Kolloquium. An academic seminar usually led by a different lecturer and on a different topic at each meeting.

Duale Hochschule. Institution of tertiary education, (in seven federal states), offering three-year courses of academic training combined with practical professional in-company training within a dual system (duales System) i.e. in the study institution and in the workplace. Students must also find a company to train in.
Fach. Course or class, e.g. Mathematics 2, Physics 1, Introduction to Electronics. Some courses consist of lectures and lab or exercise components.
Kommentiertes Vorlesungsverzeichnis. A complete listing of all courses offered by a department. It supplements the Vorlesungsverzeichnis, the general university catalog. It provides a more detailed description of each course and lecture. The registration dates for courses are also given along with the addresses and office times of lecturers and professors.
